Oxalis Triangularis: Flowering

Oxalis triangularis, also known as the purple shamrock or the love plant, is a small perennial plant, native to Brazil. It is a member of the Oxalidaceae family and is commonly grown as a houseplant or outdoor ornamental.

The plant gets its name from its triangular-shaped leaves that grow in groups of three on delicate stems. The leaves are typically dark purple or maroon on the upper side and light green on the underside. The plant produces small, white to pale pink flowers that bloom intermittently throughout the year.

Oxalis triangularis is a relatively easy plant to care for, and it prefers bright, indirect light and well-draining soil. It is a dormant plant that goes through periods of rest, during which the leaves will wilt and fall off. This is a normal part of the plant’s growth cycle, and it will regrow leaves once it enters its next growing phase.
